About this product
Description
Kathie McCurdy has a passion for flowers. Kathie's artwork also includes floral photographs and digital manipulation. The result is wide acceptance of Giclee by galleries, museums, and private collectors. Gallery wrap is a method of stretching an artist's canvas so that the canvas wraps around the sides and is secured a hidden, wooden frame. Being an avid gardener with a degree in fashion design has given Kathie a huge appreciation for color, shape and beauty. Kathie's designs range from traditional to modern, from simple to complex. This ready to hang, gallery wrapped art piece features white clematis. Giclee (jee-clay) is an advanced printmaking process for creating high quality fine art reproductions. After 12 years of growing and pressing flowers for her art, Kathie's work now encompasses over 100 designs. This method of stretching and preparing a canvas allows for a frameless presentation of the finished painting. She found herself taking the old-fashioned Victorian craft of flower pressing and bringing it into a contemporary place in time. The attainable excellence that Giclee printmaking affords makes the reproduction virtually indistinguishable from the original piece. This ready to hang, gallery wrapped art piece features white clematis. Kathie's artwork also includes floral photographs and digital manipulation.
