Nautical Enamels are available in a high gloss, semi gloss and flat finish and can be applied to any properly prepared fiberglass, metal or wood surfaces above the waterline, inside or out. Wipe the sanding residue off the surface with Mineral Spirits or Naphtha using the two-rag method. If the surface is in poor condition and to achieve optimal results, use a primer approved for alkyd topside paints as per manufacturer's instructions. Fill any surface imperfections with approved filler for alkyd topside paint use. Remove surface contamination by wiping down the surface with Mineral Spirits or Naphtha using the two-rag method. Nautical Enamels are ideal for decks, hulls and interiors in the marine environment. Previously Painted Surface Poor Condition Completely remove old paint. Sand the entire surface with 220-grit sandpaper until a flat matte finish is obtained. Do not apply Nautical Enamel directly to bare metal.
