Description

Surface Preparation-Concrete must be clean and free of all dirt and contaminants. A test area should be done in an inconspicuous area prior to applying to the entire surface. Oil and grease must be removed prior to stain application using Active Elements-Degrease. Paints and sealers must be removed prior to stain application using Active Elements-Paint Strip. Concrete ingredient mix, texture, age and stain dilution ratio affect the final color and appearance. Exterior surfaces (broom finished) - Required minimum preparation is pressure washing. Residue Removal Interior Floors-Required minimum residue removal method is scrubbing using a floor machine (buffer) with a nylon bristle brush or white pad. This is acid stain and it works differently than paint. WARNING, this is not concrete paint. Wash equipment thoroughly after use with water. Concrete floors must be open and porous prior to applying Concrete Acid Stain. Use a wet vacuum to collect residue and wastewater. A stiff bristle brush or broom should be used to scrub in the neutralizing solution. Sanibel can only be used on interior cement and concrete surfaces 1-gallon size covers 100 to 200 sq ft depending on dilution, texture and porosity of concrete. Application-Equipment must be constructed of plastic or other non-corrosive material. The stain can be applied using a plastic pump sprayer, brush, rag, or sponge. Dilution-When a lighter color is desired, use Active Elements-Dilute as a reducing agent.
